TERMS OF SERVICE

Scheduling & Loading:

Firing schedules will be provided, and our technicians will handle all kiln loading.

Eligibility:

We will only fire pieces made by experienced ceramic artists. You will need to provide detailed information regarding the clay body and glazes used.

Completion Times:

We cannot promise that your items will be ready by a specific date. Please allow plenty of time.

Small Items:

Small pieces, such as beads, must be fired on a setter. You must supply the setter and pre-load your items.

Misfires:

In the event of a kiln misfire, we will refire your pieces at no additional cost.

Firing Risks:

We are not liable for any damage, including explosions, warping, or other issues that may occur during firing. If a technician accidentally damages or incorrectly fires your piece, the firing fee will be waived, and you’ll receive a credit to remake and refire the piece at no cost.

Delays:

Firing schedules may be adjusted if necessary.

Glaze Issues:

If you are concerned about glazes running, use a setter. If your glaze runs and no setter is provided, a $25 kiln and shelf cleaning fee will apply.

Clay Body Errors:

If an inappropriate clay body is used and it melts, a $25 kiln shelf cleaning fee will be charged.

Major Failures:

If your work melts or explodes in a way that causes damage to the kiln or other artists’ work, you will be responsible for the repair costs and may need to compensate other artists.

Glaze Requirements:

Glazes must not contain salts or cause flashing.

Safety Precautions:

Please do not experiment with new materials in your clay or glaze without consulting us. It can be hazardous, and we must review and approve all additions.

Additional Limitations:

We do not accept solid sculptures or amateur work. Raku firing is not available.
